Basketball Recap: Frankenmuth Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 26-26 at halftime, Frankenmuth was not quite Swan Valley's equal in the second half on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to the Swan Valley Vikings. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Vikings are ranked 250th).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Edwards, who posted 11 points. Edwards is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Sommerfield, who earned 11 points.

Frankenmuth's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Swan Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frankenmuth has already played their next matchup (against Notre Dame Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Swan Valley will face off against Dow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
