4A District 3 recap November 5, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Derek Reeves and Tyler Myles connected against Catoosa. The longest such play in 4A District 3 this season, the connection resulted in 76 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Wagoner beat Webster 42-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Joshua Jacobs was a passing and rushing force as McLain Science & Tech beat Vinita. He completed 2 passes for 96 yards and also ran for 204 yards.
Reeves threw for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 6-17 with 2 interceptions.
Jacobs was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 204 yards on 26 carries as the Titans fell to Oologah. Jelani Lewis also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
6-foot-1 quarterback Reeves of Cleveland is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,316. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mercer. The Miami star has 35 catches for 639 yards.
Dakota Hewitt of the the Tigers is just 17 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 167 carries Hewitt has accumulated 983 yard this year.
One of 4A District 3's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Cleveland and Jarvis Payne Sr.'s team face off next week.
As it stands, the Indians are in second, while the Mustangs are in third.
The Titans and the Hornets played the closest game in the league this week, with the Titans eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory. Jacobs in the win.
