The Bishop Moore Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Santa Fe Catholic on the road and fell 76-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bishop Moore has scored all season.
Bishop Moore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taitum Tasker, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tasker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Codio, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Santa Fe Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tate Darner, who scored 19 points along with five assists. Darner hasn't dropped below 15points for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Toby Lane, who scored eight points along with eight assists and five steals.
Bishop Moore dropped their record down to 10-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Bishop Moore and Foundation Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Ridge Community at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while Santa Fe Catholic is ranked 31st).
