Johnstown-Monroe extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Buckeye this week by beating Utica, 49-8. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
East Knox and Fredericktown played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with East Knox eventually emerging with a 28-26 victory.
Johnstown-Monroe's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyler Thompson threw for 49 and one touchdown and Corbin Grassman had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Thompson chipped in 219 yards. Nick Sadinsky helped Johnstown-Monroe's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
Northridge's Bryant Garee and Chase Hess have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Garee has thrown for 295 yards this season, while Hess, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 14 catches for 185 yards. Michael Carter's team's Cody Farley leads the league in rushing yards with 881.
