The Delphi Community Oracles will be home for the holidays to greet the Pioneer Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Delphi Community is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Delphi Community came up short against Taylor and fell 49-42. Delphi Community has not had much luck with Taylor recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Delphi Community got a solid performance out of Chase Almager, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Almager scored a full 50% of Delphi Community's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Walker Jones was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pioneer took a serious blow against Frankfort on Monday, falling 72-39.
Delphi Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Delphi Community beat Pioneer 45-33 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pioneer's Caleb Sweet, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Delphi Community to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
