On Saturday, The Front Range Christian Falcons faced the Simla Cubs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Front Range Christian took a serious blow against Simla, falling 42-0. Front Range Christian's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Simla's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ Eurich, who rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Eurich was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Caston Cox, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Simla's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Brent Bowker and Treven Kocerha who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Front Range Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Simla, their win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
Front Range Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Simla will be playing at home against Merino at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Merino is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
