There's no place like home for the Manchester Squires, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Churubusco 53-23 at home. That 53-23 margin sets a new team best for Manchester this season.
Manchester found their leader in underclassman Emma Walker, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Peyton Ream was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Churubusco's loss on Wednesday came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Sinclair and Lilly Rinker. Sinclair scored seven points along with six rebounds, while Rinker scored five points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rinker has scored all season.
Manchester's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Churubusco, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester will take on North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully North Miami focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Churubusco, they will head out on the road to face off against Fremont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fremont is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
