The First Baptist Crusaders came tearing into Tuesday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over Rochester Area HomeSchool. That's another feather in the cap for First Baptist, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
First Baptist was led to victory by Keira Wynja and Lydia Wynja. Wynja scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Wynja scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. Wynja is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for five games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya McKinney, who scored ten points.
First Baptist's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. As for Rochester Area HomeSchool, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
First Baptist will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Huskies at 5:30 p.m. South Metro HomeSchool and the Crusaders are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Rochester Area HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
