Waterloo West will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Mason City at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Waterloo West had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their contest against Waterloo East last Friday 34-20.
Meanwhile, Mason City couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-48 to Fort Dodge.
Waterloo West's win lifted them to 1-0 while Mason City's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Waterloo West can add another positive mark to their record or if Mason City can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Waterloo West's step.
