Encampment has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will face off against the Southeast Cyclones at 11:30 a.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Encampment is ranked 15th, while Southeast is ranked 26th).
Last Tuesday, Encampment was able to grind out a solid victory over North Park, taking the game 51-39. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Encampment has scored all year.
Meanwhile, Southeast scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Burns 66-40. The win was just what Southeast needed coming off of a 72-42 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Ayden Desmond, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ayden Shimic, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Encampment pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Southeast, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Encampment took a serious blow against Southeast in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 61-27. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Encampment was down 44-13.
