Middletown is 0-10 against Mason since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Middletown Middies will be home for the holidays to greet the Mason Comets at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Middletown suffered a rough 67-41 defeat at the hands of Lakota East. While losing is never fun, Middletown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while Lakota East is ranked 107th).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Mason's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Princeton by a score of 72-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mason, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
Middletown was dealt a bruising 59-31 loss at the hands of Mason in their previous meeting back in January. Can Middletown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
