Rivercrest has struggled against Manila recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Rivercrest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Destiny Burks, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Zakiyah Brownlee who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Burks hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Ella Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring two points along with ten rebounds.
Rivercrest's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Manila, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rivercrest the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Corning at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th.
