Lexington has gone a perfect 4-0 against Northwest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Minutemen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m.

Lexington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Kearney, who was ranked tenth at the time (Lexington was ranked fifth). While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bearcats who were credited with the victory on Saturday. Kearney got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Lexington's three. Lexington's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Edin Lima Miranda, which was the first he's scored this season.

If Northwest beats Lexington with two goals on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over York on Thursday. Northwest haven't had any issues with York recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Northwest, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Everything went Lexington's way against Northwest in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Lexington made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Minutemen repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
