Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Taylor County Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against the Rams on Wednesday, falling 69-19. Taylor County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-7.
Taylor County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being LeeAsia Johnson, who scored six points.
Ka?nahla Hayes had a dynamite game for Rutherford, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hayes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonnie Houston, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Taylor County's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Rutherford, the win (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 23-1.
Taylor County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rutherford, they will face off against Godby at TBD on Friday. Rutherford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
