Homestead and East Noble are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Spartans will welcome the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Homestead comes in on four and East Noble on six.
On Thursday, Homestead beat DeKalb 5-1.
Homestead got a great performance from Macy Arnold as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Arnold has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

04/29/25 @ Columbia City | 1 |
04/26/25 @ Fort Wayne Northrop | 1 |
On the hitting side, Ellyana Hyder and Maddy Rodgers did most of the damage at the plate: Hyder went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Rodgers went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hyder is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Adams, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, East Noble got the win against Fort Wayne Northrop on Thursday by a conclusive 8-1. Considering the Knights have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Paige Griggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Griggs was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Helmkamp was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. Emilie Stinson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
East Noble kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive contests.
East Noble's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Homestead, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Both Homestead and East Noble just can't seem to miss. The Spartans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like East Noble struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Homestead's way against East Noble in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Homestead made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
