The North Royalton Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Solon Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Royalton is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, North Royalton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 34-30 to Beaumont School. While losing is never fun, North Royalton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while Beaumont School is ranked 189th).
Archbishop Alter typically has all the answers at home, but on Sunday Solon proved too difficult a challenge. They escaped with a win against the Knights by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42. The victory was just what Solon needed coming off of a 69-27 loss in their prior contest.
North Royalton bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Solon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
North Royalton was dealt a bruising 81-36 defeat at the hands of Solon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can North Royalton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
