Softball Recap: Pleasant Valley Has No Trouble Against Pocono Mountain East

Pleasant Valley lost to Pocono Mountain East back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bears were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Cardinals. Considering the Bears have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kailyn Getz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She also set a new season-high mark in hits with four.

At the plate, Pleasant Valley got a massive performance out of Jovie Valenzuela, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Valenzuela has posted since back in March. Allison Borger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Pleasant Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Pleasant Valley's record now sits at 9-6. As for Pocono Mountain East, they dropped their record down to 7-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
