Two dominant in Gavin Dabney and Dylan Novak are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Higley Knights will head out on the road to face off against the American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Higley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 207 points over their last three contests.
Higley fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Canyon View on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Noah Gloor, who scored 22 points along with 9 assists and 5 rebounds. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dabney, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, even though Saguaro scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North still came out on top. American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North really took it to Saguaro for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-55 victory at home. The victory was just what American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North needed coming off of a 66-43 defeat in their prior game.
Their wins bumped Higley to 3-3 and Canyon View to 6-1.
Higley came up short against American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 60-52. Can Higley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
