Basketball Recap: Davenport's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Davenport unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 76-50 to the Northwest Christian School Crusaders. The Gorillas were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Avi West continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northwest Christian School, going 12 of 19 on his way to 29 points. West's evening made it 22 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Grant, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 19 points.

Davenport now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Northwest Christian School, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davenport will face off against Medical Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Medical Lake will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Davenport surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northwest Christian School, they will take on Riverside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Christian School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Riverside likes a good challenge.
