Bolles is a perfect 3-0 against Englewood since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bolles Bulldogs will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Englewood Rams at 6:30 p.m.
Bolles is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Fletcher on Friday. They came up short against the Senators, falling 9-2. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Bolles got a good showing from Levi Pietschker, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Pietschker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bolles saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Denzel Del Valle Delgado, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Englewood's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let Christ's Church Academy get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Ethan Anderson and Ranses Vanero made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Anderson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Vanero kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. At bat, Anderson scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Vanero scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ender Aldana was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Osmay Figueredo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Bolles' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Englewood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Bolles was able to grind out a solid win over Englewood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Does Bolles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Englewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
