The New Underwood Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Harding County Ranchers at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (New Underwood is ranked 94th, while Harding County is ranked 99th).
New Underwood's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Newell 84-14 at home. New Underwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 55 points or more this season.
New Underwood found their leader in underclassman Blake Beer, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Fulton, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Harding County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belle Fourche.
Despite their loss, Harding County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Payton Dvorak, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Dvorak hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Smith, who scored 11 points.
New Underwood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Harding County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
New Underwood lost to Harding County on the road by a decisive 52-38 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can New Underwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
