Two dominant backs in Jed Galvin and Sawyer Guillaume are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The North Posey Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Central Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, North Posey got themselves on the board against Pike Central, but Pike Central never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chargers 70-0 on the road. The win was familiar territory for North Posey who now have four in a row.
Galvin was a one-man wrecking crew for North Posey as he rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. North Posey also got a significant boost from Kade Mauck, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last matchup, Perry Central made sure to put some points up on the board against Mitchell on Friday. Perry Central breezed by Mitchell on the road to the tune of 47-7.
Guillaume went supernova for Perry Central, rushing for 172 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries. Guillaume was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Another player making a difference was Cohen Edwards, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
North Posey has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in eight of their first nine contests, giving them a 8-1 record. As for Perry Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. North Posey commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Perry Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
