Baseball Recap: Suffield Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Suffield Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Deerfield Academy Big Green by a score of 10-8. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Big Green apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Chase Beloin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Rivera, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Suffield Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Deerfield Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suffield Academy will face off against Williston Northampton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Deerfield Academy, they will square off against Worcester Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Big Green 3.8, the Hilltoppers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
