The Dexter Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Schenck at home and fell 65-23. While losing is never fun, Dexter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 13th).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kellen Peavey, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Dexter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Schenck, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
Dexter will head out on the road to challenge the Howlers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Penobscot Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Schenck, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Machias has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 824 points over their last 12 matchups.
