Victor (N.Y.), which has won 42 games in a row, advanced to the semifinals of the New York Class A state playoffs. The Blue Devils take on Corning-Painted Post on Wednesday with the winner to play the winner of the Ward-Mellville/Lakeland-Panas matchup on Saturday.
In Connecticut, Darien upped its record to 21-0 by advancing to the semifinals of the Class L playoffs. The Blue Wave will play Ridgefield on Wednesday with a berth in Saturday's championship game at stake.
Darien jumped past McDonogh (Owings Mill, Md.) in this week's rankings, climbing from the No. 3 spot to No. 2 behind Victor.
