Frontier Regional has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Greenfield has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Red Hawks will host the Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Frontier Regional made easy work of Southwick Regional and carried off a 16-3 win.

Ashley Taylor made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Skyler Steele was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Machon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Frontier Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Greenfield got the win against Wahconah Regional on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-1. The Green Wave haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
MacKenzie Paulin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, Olivia Lemay and Gloria McDonald did most of the damage at the plate: Lemay went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while McDonald went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that McDonald has hit this season. Anna Bucala was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Frontier Regional's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Frontier Regional has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Greenfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frontier Regional suffered a grim 17-4 defeat to Greenfield in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Red Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
