It was a good run, but the Verden Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coyle.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coyle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlee Kelley, who scored seven points along with 18 rebounds. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Long, who scored 14 points.
Verden's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Coyle, they pushed their record up to 5-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Verden won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mulhall-Orlando on January 5th. Mulhall-Orlando is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Coyle won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Varnum at 3:00 p.m. on January 5th. Varnum presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coyle in Oklahoma (Varnum is ranked 101st, while Coyle is ranked 305th).
