The Hermon Hawks will take on the Mount Desert Island Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hermon's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Mount Desert Island's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Hermon will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Caribou on Friday. The Hawks came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 10-5.

The team relied heavily on Cam Morrison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. He has become a key player for Hermon: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Hopkins, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Hermon lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mount Desert Island, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past John Bapst Memorial 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won three in a row.
Preston Tripp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mount Desert Island got a big performance out of Colin Sullivan, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Sullivan has posted since back in May of 2024. Cameron Graham was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Mount Desert Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hermon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hermon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Desert Island struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hermon beat Mount Desert Island 7-3 in their previous matchup on Monday. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
