Batesburg-Leesville waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Saluda Tigers as they made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Panthers have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Braydon Hallman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Bouknight, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. John Sawyer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Batesburg-Leesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Batesburg-Leesville pushed their record up to 16-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Saluda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Batesburg-Leesville will challenge Aiken at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Fighting Green Hornets at the right time seeing as the Fighting Green Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Saluda, they will face off against Ninety Six at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
