Macon-East Montgomery Academy had to endure a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 53-0 win over Abbeville Christian Academy at home. The victory was just what Macon-East Montgomery Academy needed coming off of a 36-0 loss in their prior game.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy can attribute much of their success to Sam Wallace, who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and Thaddeus McKinney, who gained 264 total yards and four touchdowns. Wallace's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Meanwhile, Autauga Academy put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Monroe Academy at home to the tune of 42-8. The win was just what Autauga Academy needed coming off of a 42-7 loss in their prior game.
Their wins bumped Macon-East Montgomery Academy to 1-8 and Autauga Academy to 6-3.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Autauga Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 14-10 win.
