The Vanguard School Coursers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Gunnison 88-38 at home. Considering The Vanguard School has won five matches by more than 20 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Vanguard School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Morris, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The matchup was Morris' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Alade , who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds.
The Vanguard School's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.11 points. As for Gunnison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Vanguard School will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Florence at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Gunnison will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Olathe at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Olathe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
