The Fairfield Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Stafford 51-33. That looming 51-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Fairfield yet this season.
Mikayla Pugh was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Yareli Martinez, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ines Garcia, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Taylor Denio was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Fairfield now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Stafford, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Reno County HomeSchool the next time they take the court. Stafford will head out to face Reno County HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Fairfield will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
