The R.A. Long Lumberjacks''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Ridgefield at home and fell 35-0. Nick Niday threw for 152 yards on 13 of 29 attempts. Lonnie Brown was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
R.A. Long's defeat was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Washougal and 8-2 Mark Morris (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.6% over those games). As for Ridgefield, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
R.A. Long will head out on the road to face off against Mark Morris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Mark Morris is ranked 188th, while R.A. Long is ranked 213th). As for Ridgefield, they will be playing at home against Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
