Jonathan Germano and AJ Gallagher provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Cocoa. The connection was good for 71 yards, the longest such play in Big North - United this season.
Don Bosco Prep was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Ironmen defeated Paramus Catholic 31-8.
Bergen Catholic's dynamic duo of Germano and J.J. Kulcsar proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Germano threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns and Kulcsar had 97 yards receiving. Gallagher helped Bergen Catholic's passing attack out by catching one ball for 71 yards.
Zach Bednarczyk was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 174 yards on 12 carries as DePaul fell to Cocoa. Teammate Joe Moreno added to the ground attack by rushing for 163 yards.
Bergen Catholic's Germano and Kulcsar have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Big North - United in both passing and receiving yards. Germano has thrown for 1822 yards this season, while Kulcsar, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 29 catches for 612 yards. The Spartans' Moreno leads the league in rushing yards with 780.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Paladins and St. Joseph Regional. Paramus Catholic comes into the matchup ranked fourth in the state, while the Green Knights ranks second.
Don Bosco Prep extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chris Partridge's team, 31-8. The win marks fifth in a row for the Greg Toal's team.
