St. Dominic has gone a perfect 3-0 against Xaverian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bayhawks will head out to take on the Clippers at 11:00 a.m. St. Dominic is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
St. Dominic barely beat Kellenberg Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bayhawks put the hurt on the Firebirds with a sharp 15-5 win on Wednesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Ray Kim made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Cristian Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Joe Galeotafiore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
St. Dominic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Xaverian's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Monsignor McClancy by a score of 5-3.
Jordan Steiger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Xaverian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Zafra, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Danny Cronin was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Xaverian now has a losing record of 7-8. As for St. Dominic, their record now sits at 12-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Dominic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Xaverian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
St. Dominic beat Xaverian 4-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bayhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
