Basketball Recap: Grandview Takes a Loss

If Grandview was feeling good fresh off their 61-21 takedown of Fort Zumwalt East back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grandview Bulldogs were dealt a 68-41 loss at the hands of the Park Hill South Panthers on Monday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in November of 2016.

Loss or not, Grandview got some senior leadership from Taniya Cruthird and Jada Smith. Cruthird went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points, while Smith posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Smith has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

The defeat snapped Grandview's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. As for Park Hill South, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Grandview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-30 win against Pembroke Hill on the 14th. Park Hill South has also already played their next contest (against Lee's Summit West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
