St. Marys hadn't done well against Chapman recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Irish 4-2. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 16-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

St. Marys saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Killian McCann, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI McCann has posted since back in April of 2024. Adrian Sergent also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

With the win, St. Marys broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-13-1. As for Chapman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
