Basketball Game Preview: Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles vs. Clinton Christian Couriers

Elkhart Christian Academy is 9-1 against Clinton Christian since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Clinton Christian Couriers at 12:30 p.m. Elkhart Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Thursday, Elkhart Christian Academy made easy work of Triton and carried off a 58-36 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elkhart Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Maxwell, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and five steals. Maxwell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivy Clapsaddle, who posted 16 points along with five boards and three steals.

Elkhart Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triton only posted four assists.

Meanwhile, Clinton Christian hadn't done well against Trinity Greenlawn recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Clinton Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 victory over Trinity Greenlawn. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Couriers.

Clinton Christian's win came from a few key players Elkhart Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Saghan Schlabach, who put up 12 points and three steals. Madi Yoder was another key player, putting up eight points and 11 rebounds.

Elkhart Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Clinton Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Elkhart Christian Academy against Clinton Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 59-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elkhart Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
