There's no place like home for The Johnson Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took their game at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Marshall. The result was nothing new for Johnson, who have now won six matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Ty Hawkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 201 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenn "bubba" Johnson, who gained 153 total yards.
When it comes to explaining why Marshall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jalen Glover. Despite the final result, he rushed for 142 yards while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.
Johnson's win was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Johnson will head out on the road to face off against Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lee is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Marshall, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Churchill at 7:30 p.m. Churchill comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
