After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University, Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Douglass Red Devils, posting a 44-13 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Phoenix's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Red Devils are ranked 343rd).

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering was led to victory by Deaundrea Visor and Akiyra Mattison. Visor shot 43% from the field on her way to 14 points and seven steals, while Mattison dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Mattison is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Toy, who posted six points and nine steals.

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.8 points. As for Douglass, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
