It was a good run, but the New Way Learning Academy Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 60-20 loss at the hands of Tri-City Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Way Learning Academy has scored all season.
Tri-City Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Henry, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Chris Carnes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists and five steals.
New Way Learning Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, New Way Learning Academy and East Valley will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 11, 2024. Tri-City Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arizona Cultural Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Arizona Cultural Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
