Bowdon is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Schley County is on a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Bowdon Red Devils will take on the Schley County Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Bowdon: 17.1, Schley County: 15.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
With a playoff game on the line, Bowdon rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Bobcats 55-28 on the road. Bowdon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten games by 22 points or more this season.
Kyler Mcgrinn was his usual excellent self, rushing for 340 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Mcgrinn's longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards. Jordan Beasley was another key contributor, rushing for 195 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, Schley County has more to be thankful for after their match against Early County on Friday. Schley County managed a 28-24 victory over Early County.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Schley County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zayden Walker, who picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Kanazawa, who threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt.
Their wins bumped Bowdon to 11-2 and Dooly County to 8-5.
