It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Junction City Dragons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Manila at home to the tune of 52-6. Considering Junction City has won six contests by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Montra Hankton went supernova for Junction City, rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes. Dominique Grimes was another key contributor, picking up 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The victory (which was Junction City's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Manila, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Junction City will square off against Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Walnut Ridge is ranked 89th, while Junction City is ranked 104th). Manila does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
