Auburndale is 1-0 against Davenport since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Auburndale Bloodhounds will look to defend their home field against the Davenport Broncos at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Auburndale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberty 62-0 at home. Given Auburndale's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Liberty is ranked 464th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jaysean Pritchard, who rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Woods, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Auburndale's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Chandler Locklear and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, everything went Davenport's way against Lake Region on Friday as Davenport made off with a 40-15 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Davenport.
Their wins bumped Auburndale to 6-1 and Davenport to 4-3.
