The Creekside Seminoles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Banneker. Creekside was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Banneker apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Creekside saw an underclassman step up: Cadence Burch scored 24 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burch has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Gaulden, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Creekside bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Banneker, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mays at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Mays focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday. As for Banneker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Cities at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
