On Tuesday, Calhoun County earned a 55-45 victory over Ridge Spring-Monetta.
Kerron Scott was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Theron Cokley, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Williston-Elko was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 56-51 to Denmark-Olar. Williston-Elko has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Calhoun County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Williston-Elko, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Calhoun County against Williston-Elko in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 58-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calhoun County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
