The Doctors Charter Hawks will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Ransom Everglades Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Doctors Charter suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Chaminade-Madonna, falling 55-27.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-41, which was the final score in Ransom Everglades' tilt against NSU University on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Ransom Everglades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while NSU University is ranked 83rd).
Despite the loss, Ransom Everglades saw an underclassman step up: Zeke Battier dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 48.8% of Ransom Everglades' points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Julian Silvetz was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Doctors Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Ransom Everglades, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Doctors Charter was dealt a bruising 61-32 defeat at the hands of Ransom Everglades when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Doctors Charter, Daniel Ribeiro (who scored 24 points along with seven steals and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
