The Ingleside Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Pleasanton Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ingleside comes in on five and Pleasanton on four.
While Ingleside's win against San Diego wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Vaqueros 6-5.
Kylee Ward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ingleside let Kaylee Murua and Kiki Smith run wild. Murua went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Smith went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Murua has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Dara Davila, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ingleside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pleasanton). They never let Poteet get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Pleasanton's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Ingleside, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Everything went Ingleside's way against Pleasanton in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Ingleside made off with a 12-0 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
