Mark Salinas Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Porterville got the W thanks in part to Mark Salinas playing the best football he has all season. Salinas rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 97 yards.
Porterville's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. Salinas and Porterville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Monache at 6:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Big Game from Anders As Golden West Won 23-7
Golden West picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Case Anders. Nobody could stop Anders as he rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Anders is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Monache on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Anders saw the Marauders), he rushed for 223 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.

Ty Baxter Dazzles in Monache Victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Ty Baxter stepped things up a notch to give Monache the 'W'. Baxter was dynamite, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Baxter might have his next game, a road matchup with Golden West, circled on his calendar. Baxter rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Trailblazers duked it out back in September of 2023.

Jonathan Ruiz Turns in Season-Best Effort
Porterville was led to victory by Jonathan Ruiz, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Ruiz picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
This season, Ruiz has caught 6 touchdowns while averaging 61.6 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 11.13 receiving yards per game.

Burk Came Up Big in Redwood's 23-7 Loss
Rounding off our Top Five is Jimmie Burk of Redwood. Burk rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
For the season, Burk has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 112 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he had five rushing touchdowns.
