Basketball Recap: Jackson's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson). They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over the South Webster Jeeps on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Ironman/Ironladies as it put an end to their 18-game losing streak dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why South Webster lost, don't look at Addi Claxon. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Claxon has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. Kylie Rawlins also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Jackson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-17. As for South Webster, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Jackson will face off against Chillicothe at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson is facing Chillicothe at the right time seeing as Chillicothe is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for South Webster, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-42 loss against Waverly on the 30th.
